Summer 2009

Cambridge Sound provided a JBL powered PA system for the Darwin Festival launch at Botanic Gardens. Both speeches and performers made good use of this. Portable systems were also provided for the fringe running alongside.




An outdoor event at Kings College utilised our Carsbro powered PA and AKG radio microphones.

From 5-10 July 2009, in its 800th anniversary year, the University of Cambridge hosted a major international Festival to mark 200 years since Charles Darwin's birth and 150 years since the publication of On the Origin of Species. Combining science, arts and the humanities, over 100 outstanding thinkers, authors, artists and performers debated and celebrated the enduring influence of Darwin's ideas.

Opening of the Newmarket Equine Hospital - May



We provided a compact 500 watt PA system, AKG mics, Mackie desk and an engineer to ensure that their official opening speeches, made by HRH Princess Haya of Jordan and senior partner David Elliss, were heard by all attendees.

Napp Pharmaceuticals - Outdoor corporate event



Taking a chance with the weather for an outside event for up to 800 people is a very brave thing to do (that's why we prepared an indoor multi-level pa system alternative for the client). Radio mics, Mackie desk and multiple powered pa speakers on stands were used broadcast speeches to employees on their Cambridge Science Park site.

Winter 2008

What a great way to see in the new year! A wedding and new year's eve party combined at Anstey Hall.



Anstey Hall are one of our regular venue partners and we love working there. The marquee looked great, the fireworks were amazing and the hall looked beautiful. Once again a big thanks to Abbi and John.


It's great to be back at the Grand Arcade

As their "Little Angel" Lyla Goddard pushes the plunger and switches on a fantastic display of Christmas lights.



November 12th was the official switching on of the spectacular Christmas lights in the Grand Arcade Cambridge and Darryl Flinders was there to ensure that it all went off well. Once again, Cambridge Sound provided all of the PA equipment and magical star curtain lighting effects for the Grand Arcade. Darryl compered the evening and provided festive music throughout the entire event. Some of the best choirs in the area sang for the crowds and it was a great way to kick-off Christmas trading in the Arcade.

The Grand Arcade celebrates its first birthday in March 2009 and has already established itself as the best shopping area in Cambridge.

Well done to Lidia and the team at the centre for making the Grand Arcade a fantastic place to shop this Christmas.


More weddings and one of the largest bonfire and fireworks displays in the area.

Just when we thought that we would be getting a bit of relief after the summer weddings and conference events we get a surge of bookings for public events.

Garrison FM asked us to provide roadshow support (DJ services, outdoor lighting and sound) at ATR Bassingbourne.

A huge event as thousands of spectators turned out to have fun at the former home of the Memphis Belle.

Weddings galore as we celebrate a record number of bookings this summer.

A big thank you to all of our wedding clients for choosing Cambridge Sound Weddings to entertain their guests this summer.

Our bookings for 2009 are now starting to accelerate after many client referrals, 3 wedding fairs, 2 fashion shows and other high profile public events.

Summer 2008

The Grand Arcade selects Cambridge Sound to support their "Dance Factor" competition.



Cambridge Sound were delighted to have provided all of the lighting, sound and music for "Dance Factor 2008" in The Grand Arcade Cambridge.

Radio microphones were used
by Tom and Emma (Q103 breakfast show presenters) at
the event and this allowed them to freely roam around multiple levels of the shopping Arcade and
provided them with a great way
of interviewing members of the audience.

The evening started off with a BBQ in the college grounds, topped off with entertainment from Cambridge Sound. The students danced the night away to some classic tracks, club anthems and a collection of the latest chart hits.
